Ribeirinha parish
Ribeirinha is the island’s most recent parish, designated as such on 15 September 1980. However, the community of Ribeirinha is very old; it is mentioned in Gaspar Frutuoso’s "Saudades da Terra".
S. Anton church was built in the same place where there was previously a small chapel dedicated to Saint Anton. It was erected in 1762 and in 1961 it was rehabilitated. It has a single nave, a simple façade and a bell-tower ending on a pinnacle.
