Santo Amaro parish
This is traditionally the main ship yard of the Azores. From distorted and winding pieces of wood, using ancestral techniques, experienced craftsmen create elegant boats, barges, trawlers and other fishing or passenger vessels.
The parish church, dedicated to Saint Amaro, dates from the 18th century. The tower is short with battlements.
